ABOUT ROSS

Ross O'Connor is an award-winning New York and Maine based filmmaker, producer, line producer, and post editorial specialist. After serving as a Creative Executive at Eric Eisner’s Double E Pictures for a number of years, Ross partnered with Relic Pictures in 2018 where he produced Rashaad Green's PREMATURE (Independent Spirit Award Winner / IFC) and Eric Schultz's directorial debut, MINOR PREMISE (Fantasia / Utopia).

 

Ross also served as unit production manager on the documentary RED, WHITE & WASTED (Tribeca / Dark Star), and worked in a variety of roles on THE CLIMB (Cannes / Sony Pictures Classics). Short films he has produced have played festivals nationwide including Maryland, Seattle, Denver, Austin, and many more.

 

Ross cut his teeth as an Associate Producer on Amir Bar-Lev's LONG STRANGE TRIP: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE GRATEFUL DEAD which premiered at Sundance 2017 and sold to Amazon Prime, where it streams as a six-part docu-series.  

 

Ross produces, line produces and directs commercial and branded content for corporate clients such as American Express, Coca-Cola, ESPN, Sony, Pfizer, Jockey, Buzzfeed, Nickelodeon, FosterMore, and Atlas Obscura.  He's also produced music videos for artists like J. Balvin ("Reggaeton" - 250M+ views) and Rich Brian ("Cold" - 22M+ views.)

 

He most recently produced & line produced Carter Smith’s SWALLOWED (Fantastic / XYZ Films) and executive produced & line produced the thriller THE WOUND WOOD which is currently in post-production.


Since 2019 Ross has served as the official documentarian and in-house filmmaker to the beloved New England Cartel MMA fight team. The team boasts two top ten UFC fighters - featherweight Calvin Kattar & bantamweight Rob Font - and is lead by Coach of the Year recipient Tyson Chartier. He has produced dozens of “Fight Week” and ancillary content for the team, garnering hundreds of thousands of views and widespread social media acclaim. He is currently cutting a multi-year epic documentary of the team’s rise to prominence tentatively titled WHY NOT US.

 

Prior to his career in film, Ross worked as an investment banker at Barclays.  He graduated from Colby College with a BA in English.
